Maddy Schwartz has been involved in many community service activities. She mentors at Kids Unlimited, has built houses with her church group, and organized a fundraiser to help victims of the Boston Marathon bombing.

Anna has spent many hours in service with medical missions and with the Southern Oregon Humane Society. She plans a career in medicine, and appreciates the lessons she has learned while serving the needs of animals and of underprivileged people.

St. Mary's student Alexandra Waldron will participate in the nine-day program, where students are introduced to emerging issues in public health, medical ethics, research and general practice. Site visits to top medical schools and clinical facilities are also part of the experience to develop the next generation of medical professionals.

Katie Shammel is Community Service Student of the Month for April. She has worked for years with young people as a teacher, trainer, and camp counselor. She plans a career in the law as a children's advocate.

Tracy Salgado has been named Community Service Student of the Month for February/March. A 2012 church trip to Haiti taught him a great deal about working together in community and having correct priorities.

The 8th grade girls basketball team finished in 3rd place, and the boys took 7th, at the 41st annual St. Paul Tournament of Excellence at Marist High School in Eugene over Presidents' Day weekend.

St. Mary's is hosting a National Evangelization Team (NET) Retreat on Thursday February 13th! The retreat is planned to run from 4 pm to 9 pm on Thursday, the 13th and is a fun and interactive way of exploring one's own faith and sharing it with other students.

Grace Thieme has been named Community Service Student of the Month for January/February. Her work includes "Mr. St. Mary's," the Britt Children's Festival, and serving as trainer for the high school football team.

The St. Mary's girls cross country team finished in second place at the OSAA 3A/2A/1A Championships, held on Saturday, November 2 at Lane Community College in Eugene. Congratulations on a great season!
