Itinerary in brief:

This year, we arrive in Rome for five days of touring the Eternal City, then we say "Arrivederci, Roma" and head south.  We will stop in Terracina on our way to Sorrento, which will be our base for visiting Naples, Pompeii, and driving and boating along the Amalfi Coast.  After this, an overnight ferry trip from the port of Naples will take us to Palermo, Sicily.  We will see the sights in and around Palermo, including some day-trips to Sicily's Greek temples, then travel by way of Sicily's north coast to Cefalu, Taormina, and Catania.  The flight back home leaves from Catania to Rome and eventually back to San Francisco where our bus will pick us up and deliver us to the St. Mary's parking lot.

Total trip cost:

$4600, which includes all transportation, lodging (including breakfast and dinner), museum admission, gratuities, etc.
